Lexbridge

Security and Defence
Lexbridge advises governments and industry on the complex legal issues that arise at the intersection of national security, defence capability and international law. We provide strategic legal advice across the full spectrum of defence policy, operations, procurement and international security cooperation.
Our experience includes negotiating and implementing arms control and counter-proliferation agreements, including treaties governing conventional weapons and international arms transfers. We have developed operational legal frameworks and advised on the application of international law in military operations, peacekeeping deployments and humanitarian assistance missions across diverse operational environments.
Lexbridge also has extensive expertise in the development and negotiation of complex defence capability arrangements, including multi-billion-dollar land, maritime and aerospace acquisition and sustainment programs. We also advise governments on strategic defence cooperation, security partnerships and status of forces arrangements throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
As the security landscape evolves, we are able to assist clients to navigate the legal implications of emerging technologies, including autonomous weapons systems, artificial intelligence, cyber operations and space security. Our team also provides advice on United Nations and bilateral sanctions regimes, export controls, defence trade regulation, security of information agreements and other national security frameworks.
