Lexbridge advises on, interprets, and assists in the domestic implementation of all international and regional human rights conventions (covering civil and political rights; economic, social and cultural rights; discrimination issues; rights of women, children, persons with disability, older persons and Indigenous/First Nations persons).​ Our work has covered complex and sensitive issues in international and domestic human rights, spanning all the core human rights treaties, and other instruments.

 

We provide support with all aspects of the UN human rights systems - including UN human rights treaty bodies; UN Charter bodies and mechanisms (such as the Human Rights Council); international investigations and commissions of inquiry.

 

We also support with the interpretation and implementation of international humanitarian law, including issues relating to the means and methods of warfare; protection of the wounded, prisoners and civilians; compliance and accountability.

We have significant experience in interpreting the international and domestic human rights obligations of states and advising on their practical implementation and implications for government policy, and supporting legislative reform. Our team has supported multiple Royal Commissions, have advised on federal and state and territory laws on discrimination, and have extensive practical experience with all aspects of state engagement with the UN human rights system.
