Dr Danielle Ireland-Piper specialises in national security, constitutional law, and international law, particularly relating to cross-border legal issues.

An experienced academic, Danielle has expertise in delivering complex research projects, as well as education, training, and workshops.  In 2025, Danielle was appointed a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law, and she has published books, journal articles, and commissioned reports, including ‘National Security Law in Australia’ (Federation Press, 2024).

Danielle is also an Associate Professor at the Australian National University. She has been a visiting scholar at the University College Dublin, Utrecht University, Jindal Global University, the University of South Pacific, and the University of Basel.
